HOW TO AVOID BLURRY VIDEOS WITH THE INSTA360 ONE X
When you film videos in low light, the One X defaults to a lower shutter speed to let in as much light as possible and reduce noise. But lower shutter speed at night will cause blur. To avoid this, go to the video settings on your One X, and set the shutter speed to Fast. Or if you are using manual video settings on the One X app, then set the shutter speed to 1/120 or higher.
HOW TO REMOVE THE INSTA360 ONE X NADIR BLACK CLOUD
To remove the black cloud from the nadir of your One X footage…
Open the One X app, go to Settings, Nadir Logo, and select None.
HOW TO REMOVE THE SHOT ON INSTA360 ONE X WATERMARK
To remove the shot on Insta360 One X watermark…
Open the One X app, go to Settings, and turn off Official Watermark.
HOW TO SET THE TIME AND DATE ON THE INSTA360 ONE X
The time and date of the One X can go out of sync when you remove the battery or when the battery goes flat. To set the correct time and date automatically, just connect the One X to your phone wirelessly or via cable to the One X app.
HOW TO OVERCOME SHORT BATTERY LIFE WITH THE INSTA360 ONE X
The battery life on the One X is really short. To keep your One X charged throughout the day, use an external powerbank to charge your One X in between your shots.
HOW TO SAVE BATTERY WITH THE INSTA360 ONE X
To save battery life on the One X, turn off wireless mode. To do this, go the wireless settings on the One X, and switch the WiFi setting to Auto.
The One X drains battery even when you are not using it since the bluetooth is always on. There is no way to turn bluetooth off. To stop the battery draining when you are not using the One X, take the battery out of the One X. Put the battery back in before you are about to film.
HOW TO PROTECT THE LENSES OF THE INSTA360 ONE X
To protect the lenses of the One X, place the One X lens down into the pouch. The best way to keep the lenses clean without damaging them is to use a Lens Blower. This will blow the dust off the lenses without having to touch it.
Another way to keep the One X lenses clean is to use a Lens Pen to brush the dust off the lenses.
HOW TO AVOID STITCH LINES WITH THE INSTA360 ONE X
To avoid the stitch lines distorting your face…
Make sure the lens is facing the primary subject, and not the side of the camera.
HOW TO FILM IN THE SUN WITH THE INSTA360 ONE X
On a sunny day, avoid positioning one lens towards the Sun. One lens will expose darker and the other will expose lighter, resulting in an evident stitch line.
Make the side of the camera face the sun for even exposure on both lenses.
WHEN TO USE INSTA360 ONE X HDR VIDEO MODE
On a Sunny day, use HDR video mode for higher quality and better looking video. But you can only use HDR video mode during the day, and when your One X is on a tripod. If you try to use HDR video mode whilst moving, then you will get a ghosting effect.
HOW TO GET A THIRD PERSON VIEW
To get a third person view of yourself, put the One X on the Invisible Selfie Stick and hold it out in front of you.
For a steady shot, bend your knees and walk slowly.
WHICH LENS IS THE FRONT OF THE INSTA360 ONE X
The side of the One X with the LED screen is the front / starting point of the 360 video. For example, if you are filming yourself, then make sure the LED screen is facing you. This way you will not have to turn the 360 video around in post.
HOW TO SAVE YOUR INSTA360 ONE X EDITS
Your phone may crash when you are editing hyperlapses or timeshifts on the Insta360 One X app. It’s a massive pain to lose all your hard work editing, and then restart editing. To avoid this, press back every 5 minutes whilst editing.
Open the footage again to continue editing from where you left off.
HOW TO FOCUS ON A SUBJECT WITHOUT ADDING KEYFRAMES
Point the front of the One X towards your subject (The side with the LED screen). In the One X app, select Direction Hold after you finished recording. With this technique, there is no need to constantly add keyframes to focus on the subject.
HOW TO SAVE A 360 PHOTO FROM A 360 VIDEO USING THE STUDIO FOR ONE X
To extract a 360 photo from a 360 video, open Studio For One X. Import your 360 video. Move the yellow cursor to where you want to take a 360 photo.
Then click the camera button to save the 360 photo.
HOW TO SAVE A 360 PHOTO FROM A 360 VIDEO USING THE ONE X APP
Open the One X app. Tap on a footage you want to save a 360 photo from. After you finished making your edits, tap this square button to save a 360 photo from your 360 video.
HOW TO RELOAD THE INSTA360 ONE X APP ON ANDROID
Sometimes the One X app is not responsive on Android. Swiping the app right from the task manager does not fully force the app to stop and restart. To fully force stop the One X app and reload it (please try similar options for phones other than Samsung), go to Settings, Apps, One X App, and Force Stop.
Open the One X app again and everything should be working perfectly.
BEST WAY TO COLOUR GRADE INSTA360 ONE X FOOTAGE
The colour of your video will change automatically when using Auto White Balance. It’s best to use Manual White Balance for consistent colour in your video. To select the best White Balance option, just tap each option until you find a profile which looks most neutral and pleasing to the eye. For more vibrant colours in your One X videos, keep log mode OFF.
HOW TO REMOVE THE MICRO SD CARD FROM THE INSTA360 ONE X MORE EASILY
If your fingernails are too short to push the Micro SD card in and out of the One X, then use another Micro SD Card to push the Micro SD card in the One X in and out.
The easiest way to transfer files from your One X to your PC is by using the data transfer cable (the same cable you use to charge the One X). Plug the cable into your One X and plug the other end into your PC. Turn the One X on and it will automatically connect.
On your PC, navigate to the One X USB Drive, DCIM, Camera01 folder, and your One X files will appear.

When you are downloading files from the One X to your phone, you can record video at the same time.
HOW TO EXPORT VIDEOS FASTER WITH THE ONE X APP
Your phone needs more power to export videos faster. Export faster by turning off Power Saving Mode.
And put your phone on charge whilst the video is exporting.
HOW TO EDIT 360 VIDEO WITHOUT STITCHING FIRST
Insta360 Studio For One X allows you to edit your 360 videos without the need to stitch it first. Just import your ISNV files and begin editing.
You can also import your INSV files directly into Premiere Pro CC 2019. You need to install Insta360 Studio For One X, with the Premiere Pro plugin integration checked during installation for this to work.
MAKE SURE YOUR TRIPOD IS STABLE
If you mount the One X on a light tripod, please make sure to put some weight at the bottom of the tripod so it doesn’t get knocked over. There are countless newbies making this mistake with their brand new £400 camera. You must take precaution against wind, kids running around, animals, and tourists walking around. So please take care when filming!
